Berkeley, CA Job Details Part-time $30 an hour 5 hours ago Qualifications Mechanical blueprint interpretation Electrical schematic reading and interpretation Soldering tools Piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) Mechanical drawings Attention to detail System testing Electrical layout diagram interpretation Power tools Hand tools Mechanical troubleshooting Electrical soldering Full Job Description Jupiter Volta Inc. is looking for an experienced, and detail oriented Part Time Assembly Technician to build R D prototype assemblies for a novel type of nuclear fusion reactor. The company is small; a qualified employee will be willing to work in several different areas of expertise over time and enlarge their skillset to meet project needs. The Assembly Technician will work under the direction of electrical and mechanical engineers to build high voltage generators, control panels, and vacuum chambers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Build cable, electrical, mechanical, and vacuum assemblies Support development team with disassembly, troubleshooting, installation, and assembly of prototype advanced manufacturing equipment Complete wiring such as control data terminals, DC power, cable terminations, AC powered components Perform helium leak checks Operate hand, power, and bench tools to assemble or quickly rework parts Performs standard testing and troubleshooting of vacuum and plasma systems Check for defects, report problems as they arise, and perform rework as directed Strong attention to detail, quality-focused, and willing to learn. Performs other duties as required On-site attendance in Berkeley is a requirement for this position Must have a valid passport and be willing to travel internationally to customer sites for service visits

Skill Requirements:

Read, interpret, and follow technical drawings, electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, operating procedures, and testing documentation Hand soldering, Electronics troubleshooting, EE shop practices Experienced in operating hand, power, and bench tools

Bonus Skills:

Cable and harness assembly experience Vacuum system experience (semiconductor equipment, etc.) High voltage experience Jupiter Volta is an early stage startup. Compensation will include equity and be awarded by experience. Location shall be split between on-site in Berkeley, CA and remote.

Pay:

$30.00 per hour
