Suspended Scaffold Hoist & Equipment Service Technician We are seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined Service Technician to join our team servicing suspended scaffolding hoists, motors, platforms, and related equipment. The technician will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment used on suspended scaffold systems at various job sites. This is a hands-on field position requiring mechanical ability, attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work at different locations. The ideal candidate is dependable, willing to learn, comfortable working at heights, and able to diagnose and resolve equipment issues efficiently. Duties & Responsibilities Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on suspended scaffold hoists and related equipment. Inspect hoists, motors, wire ropes, platforms, controls, power systems, and other components for proper operation and signs of wear or damage. Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with suspended scaffold equipment. Test equipment to identify problems and determine the appropriate repair or replacement. Perform basic electrical troubleshooting using multimeters and other testing equipment. Replace worn, damaged, or defective parts as needed. Assist with the installation, setup, and removal of suspended scaffold hoists and equipment. Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations and company procedures. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and safe for use before being placed into service. Complete service reports, inspection records, and maintenance documentation. Respond to service calls and equipment issues at customer job sites. Drive company vehicles to transport tools, equipment, and replacement parts to job sites. Communicate with foremen, supervisors, customers, and other crew members regarding equipment conditions and required repairs. Maintain tools, service vehicles, and equipment in a clean and organized condition. Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and applicable scaffold and equipment safety standards. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications & Experience Previous experience with suspended scaffolding, hoists, construction equipment, or mechanical equipment is preferred. Mechanical, electrical, or construction experience is a plus. Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical problems. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical testing equipment. Ability to read equipment manuals, basic diagrams, and instructions. Experience working with motors, cables, controls, switches, or similar equipment is a plus. Comfortable working outdoors and at elevated heights. Ability to lift, carry, and handle tools and equipment. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to travel to different construction sites as required. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Willingness to learn manufacturer-specific equipment and service procedures.
