Required Skills Strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills Ability to diagnose internet, Wi-Fi, router, ONT, Ethernet, and connected-device issues Basic understanding of home networking, including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, IP addressing, routers, and customer devices Ability to distinguish between fiber/network issues and in-home equipment/Wi-Fi issues Comfortable working with smartphones, computers, streaming devices, smart TVs, gaming systems, and other connected devices Strong customer-service and communication skills Ability to work independently and systematically troubleshoot problems Ability to climb ladders, work in attics/crawlspaces, lift equipment, and work indoors/outdoors Essential Functions Statement (s) Deliver on-site technical support and troubleshooting to resolve issues related to fiber optic internet and related services. Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs in customer premises, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to services. Install, configure, and maintain fiber optic equipment, including routers, switches, and network interface units. Educate customers on the use and features of the services provided, enhancing their understanding and experience. Consistently provide exceptional customer service, aiming to exceed expectations and foster a positive company image. Document all service visits, including actions taken, customer interactions, and any follow-up required. Respond to emergency service calls with a sense of urgency, providing timely and effective solutions. Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's product offerings, service plans, and promotional materials to assist in customer inquiries and upselling when appropriate. Collaborate with the Fiber Engineering and IT teams to ensure seamless service and support for customers. Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies at all times, especially when working in customer premises. Perform other related duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or associate degree in electronics, telecommunications, or a related field is a plus.
Experience:
Previous experience in a related job is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Computer Skills:
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Power Point, Excel, and other PC software packages
Other Requirements:
Valid Kentucky Driver's License is required. Required to live within a reasonable distance to work, with no more than a response time of 30 minutes from time of initial call, so as to provide adequate response time to emergencies and be within operating range of utility's communication systems. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to articulate his/her thoughts in a variety of situations with a diverse group of people. May be required to take and pass a physical examination by a medical physician of the utility's choice. Such examination will include drug testing. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing using proficient English is required

F WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to operate equipment and machinery requiring monitoring multiple conditions and making multiple, complex and rapid adjustments.
Ability to repair complex equipment and machinery. Ability to coordinate eyes, hands, feet and limbs in performing skilled movements such as rapid keyboard use. Ability to exert very moderate physical effort in sedentary to light work, involving stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 100 pounds. Ability to recognize and identify similarities or differences between characteristics of colors, forms, sounds, etc., associated with fiber, objects, materials. Must be able to see, hear, sit, stand, and move quickly from place to place as required in emergency conditions under adverse weather, noise, and visibility. Outside working conditions that involve extreme cold, temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour and extreme heat, temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Subject to sufficient noise to cause worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level and cause need of hearing protection. Vibration exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body. Exposure to hazards that include a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and working in high places. Exposure to all forms of moisture and wind, especially during inclement weather conditions. Work at night and weekends will be required as needed.
