What they do
A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or associate degree in electronics, telecommunications, or a related field is a plus.Experience:
Previous experience in a related job is highly desirable but not mandatory.Computer Skills:
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Power Point, Excel, and other PC software packagesOther Requirements:
Valid Kentucky Driver's License is required. Required to live within a reasonable distance to work, with no more than a response time of 30 minutes from time of initial call, so as to provide adequate response time to emergencies and be within operating range of utility's communication systems. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to articulate his/her thoughts in a variety of situations with a diverse group of people. May be required to take and pass a physical examination by a medical physician of the utility's choice. Such examination will include drug testing.
