We're looking for a hands-on technician to join our team and help keep our karts running strong — from the moment they arrive at a customer's site through years of service after. About the Role As our Field Service & Repair Technician, you'll be the go-to person for getting new electric go-kart installations up and running, providing technical support to customers in the field, and keeping our in-house repair operations moving at our Carlsbad warehouse. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys varied, hands-on work — one week you might be commissioning a new fleet of karts on-site, the next you're diagnosing an electrical issue on the shop floor. What You'll Do Install and commission new electric go-kart fleets at customer sites, including setup, calibration, and system testing Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers troubleshooting kart issues Perform in-house repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance on electric go-karts returned to the Carlsbad warehouse Diagnose and repair electrical systems, wiring, and onboard controls Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and parts usage for each job Communicate clearly with customers on-site and coordinate with the Kart 1 team on parts, timelines, and follow-up needs Travel to customer locations for installations and support as needed (approximately 25% of the time) What We're Looking For 2-5 years of hands-on technical experience in electrical/mechanical repair, field service, or a related trade Solid understanding of electrical systems and wiring — comfortable reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting circuits Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer sites (~25%) Ability to work independently, both in the warehouse and on-site at customer locations Strong communication skills for interfacing directly with customers Physically able to lift/move kart components and work in a warehouse environment Nice to have: Experience with electric vehicles, karts, or similar small-motor equipment Prior customer-facing field service experience
