POSITION SUMMARY
The Golf Cart Mechanic & Counter Sales Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service while performing golf cart maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, battery installations, and related service work. This position also assists customers at the sales counter, processes sales transactions, manages battery and parts sales, and helps maintain an organized and safe work environment. The ideal employee will have mechanical aptitude, strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while following company procedures and safety requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Golf Cart Mechanical & Service Duties Diagnose and troubleshoot golf cart mechanical and electrical problems. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on golf carts. Inspect golf cart batteries, electrical systems, wiring, chargers, motors, brakes, and related components. Install, replace, and test golf cart batteries and battery systems. Perform battery testing and identify battery-related problems. Assist customers with determining the appropriate battery and service needs for their golf cart. Perform battery terminal, cable, connection, and corrosion inspections and repairs as appropriate. Install and replace golf cart parts and components as directed. Test golf carts following repairs or maintenance to ensure proper operation. Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, parts, and batteries used. Identify additional repair or service needs and communicate them to customers and management. Follow all manufacturer recommendations and company safety procedures when performing repairs. Counter Sales & Customer Service Greet customers and provide professional, courteous service. Determine customer needs and recommend appropriate batteries, parts, accessories, and services. Sell automotive, golf cart, commercial, and other batteries and related products offered by AA Battery Outlet. Provide accurate pricing and product information. Process cash, credit card, and other approved transactions accurately. Prepare invoices, receipts, work orders, and other sales documentation. Answer customer questions regarding batteries, golf carts, chargers, and related products. Assist customers with battery selection based on vehicle, golf cart, equipment, or application. Coordinate customer service and repair needs with the mechanic/service area. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional sales counter and customer area. Inventory & Store Responsibilities Assist with receiving, organizing, labeling, and stocking batteries, parts, and merchandise. Monitor inventory and report shortages, damaged products, or discrepancies to management. Properly handle and store batteries and related materials. Assist with loading and unloading batteries and equipment when required. Maintain clean and organized work areas. Assist with battery cores, returns, exchanges, and warranty-related procedures according to company policy. Protect company property, inventory, equipment, cash, and customer property.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow all AA Battery Outlet safety policies and procedures. Use appropriate personal protective equipment when performing mechanical or battery-related work. Properly handle batteries, tools, chargers, and mechanical equipment. Follow proper procedures for lifting and moving heavy batteries and equipment. Immediately report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, damaged equipment, or other safety concerns to management. Maintain a safe and clean work environment for employees and customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous golf cart, automotive, mechanical, battery, or electrical experience preferred. Mechanical and troubleshooting experience preferred. Ability to safely use common hand and power tools. Basic understanding of electrical systems and battery operation preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to perform physical work, including lifting and moving batteries and equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and management instructions. Must maintain a professional attitude when interacting with customers and coworkers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position may require the employee to: Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and work in various positions. Lift 75 lbs carry, and move batteries, parts, tools, and equipment. Work in indoor and outdoor environments. Safely operate tools and mechanical equipment. Perform repetitive physical tasks as necessary. Work in areas where exposure to automotive and battery-related materials may occur.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
The employee may be required to perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by the owner, manager, or supervisor. Duties may include assisting with deliveries, loading and unloading merchandise, cleaning, inventory, battery installation, golf cart service, and other duties as assigned.
Pay:
$24.50 - $27.00 per hour
