Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Marine Technician and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing water transportation equipment! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of marine engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components. Your expertise will keep vessels operating safely and efficiently, supporting our commitment to excellence in marine services. Duties Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on marine engines, propulsion systems, and electrical systems to ensure peak performance. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using schematics, technical drawings, multimeters (including ohmmeters), calipers, and other precision measuring instruments. Utilize hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, sheet metal tools, and rigging gear to execute repairs accurately and efficiently. Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to troubleshoot complex marine electrical and mechanical systems. Conduct water transportation equipment maintenance including engine repairs, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical systems repair while adhering to safety protocols with personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist in assembly or disassembly of marine components during repairs or upgrades. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports documenting all maintenance activities for compliance and operational efficiency. Requirements Proven service technician experience with a strong background in marine mechanics or related fields such as diesel mechanics or vehicle maintenance. Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and interpreting complex diagrams related to ship electrical systems and mechanical assemblies. Experience working with marine propulsion systems maintenance and water transportation equipment is highly desirable. Electrical experience including troubleshooting marine electrical systems using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and multimeters. Mechanical knowledge encompassing engine repair, sheet metal work, soldering, heavy lifting techniques, and the use of precision measuring instruments. Hands-on experience with maintenance, repair & operations (MRO), ship electrical systems maintenance, and engineering troubleshooting. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, calipers, soldering irons, and other relevant equipment safely while following PPE guidelines. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients. Military background or experience in a disciplined environment is a plus due to the emphasis on safety protocols and technical rigor.
