Job Description

We are looking to hire a Marine Service Technician who is skilled in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing outboard, inboard, and sterndrive engines across major brands like Yamaha, Mercury, and Volvo Penta, performing electrical troubleshooting and routine maintenance, and ensuring clear repair estimates with high first-time fix rates.

Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, service, and repair outboards, inboards, and sterndrives (I/O) across various makes and models (Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Volvo Penta, Mercruiser, etc.).Perform complete diagnostic sweeps, routine maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, drive rebuilding, and seasonal lay-ups.

Conduct thorough inspections, calculate repair estimates (parts + labor hours), and communicate scope clearly.

Maintain clean work standards and ensure high first-time fix rates on shop and mobile service calls.
QualificationsExperience:
Hands-on mechanical experience with outboard motors and/or inboard/sterndrive propulsion systems.
Certifications:
Factory certifications (Yamaha, Mercury, ABYC, Mercruiser, Volvo Penta, etc.) are a big plus, but solid field experience is equally valuable.
Diagnostic Skill:
Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and fuel systems efficiently.
Work Ethic:
Strong time management, attention to detail, and a focus on getting job estimates right the first time.
