Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Marine Technician to join our team, responsible for the maintenance, repair, and assembly of marine vessels and watercraft. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of marine systems and be proficient in using various tools and instruments. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experienced technicians will also be able to perform duties off site as well with our mobile services. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on marine engines and systems. Perform routine maintenance on personal watercraft Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues. Assemble components and systems according to specifications. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and ohmmeters for accurate diagnostics. Remove and repair engines, transom or outdrive. Disassemble unit and inspect parts for wear. Overhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical and fuel systems. Document all service activities accurately in maintenance logs. Maintain and keep current with all certifications. Maintain internal/external customer satisfaction. Attend training and getting certifications with Mastercraft, Illmor, Kawasaki and Yamaha as needed. Prep and detail of new and used units for retail. Winterize marine and watercraft units for end of season storage, onsite and off. Perform shrink wrap of units for end of season storage.
Qualifications:
Astute attention to detail. Experience and certifications with manufacturers, like Mercury , Volvo, Yamaha, Mastercraft, etc. Ability to thoroughly examine boats and effectively communicates the nature and extent of damage or malfunction with the service advisor. Perform diagnostics and repair of all types of marine engines and transmissions/drives/systems. Strong organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to provide exceptional customer service. Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills while working both independently and within a team environment. Eager to engage in a growing, fast paced, and industry-leading company. Experience with Fiberglass / Hull repair a plus Experience Previous experience as a service technician or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with marine systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components. Proficient in using precision measuring instruments and hand tools related to marine repair work. Strong understanding of safety protocols in a marine environment. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to ascend and descend a ladder. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to lift 70 pounds.
Education:
Minimum of High School degree or equivalent Driver's License, required. Boater's License, preferred.
