Overview Join our team as a Traffic Control Flagger and play a vital role in ensuring safety and efficiency at roadway construction and maintenance sites. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for directing traffic, safeguarding workers, and maintaining smooth flow in work zones. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help create a safe environment for both construction crews and the traveling public. Duties Set up and operate traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barriers to guide vehicles safely through construction zones Use hand signals, flags, or electronic signaling devices to direct traffic according to project requirements Maintain clear communication with construction crews, flagging teams, and motorists to ensure safety protocols are followed Monitor work zones continuously to identify potential hazards or traffic issues and respond promptly Assist with the setup and removal of temporary traffic control measures in accordance with safety standards Support heavy equipment operators by providing safe access routes and managing traffic around machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and front loader trucks Adhere strictly to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and safety protocols during all activities Requirements Prior experience in traffic control for work zones or construction site experience preferred Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods Strong understanding of heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader operation, backhoe operation, grader operation, paving, and utility locating is a plus Knowledge of roadway construction projects, highway maintenance, and heavy lifting techniques Mechanical knowledge of power tools and hand tools used on construction sites Familiarity with safety protocol adherence including OSHA standards and FMCSA regulations Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently using appropriate techniques Valid certification as a Traffic Control Flagger or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is required Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual tasks required on construction sites Join us in creating safer roads while advancing your career in civil infrastructure! Pay:
From $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 65.0 per week
