Role Description The Traffic Signal Worker is a full-time, on-site role based in West Valley, UT, supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signals and related electrical systems. In this position, the worker assists with setting poles, mounting and wiring signal heads, running and terminating conduit and cabling, and programming or testing signal controllers. Daily tasks include reading and following plans and diagrams, using hand and power tools, performing troubleshooting on signal equipment, and adhering to safety protocols in roadway and construction environments. The role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions, collaborating closely with team members and supervisors, and documenting work performed to meet project and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Basic Knowledge of conduit work, and use of electrical tools. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and traffic signal plans. Knowledge of roadway safety practices, traffic control procedures, and working safely around heavy equipment. Experience with installation or maintenance of traffic signals, street lighting, or similar infrastructure is beneficial. Physical capability to lift equipment, work at heights, and perform manual tasks for extended periods. Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills in field environments. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or apprenticeship in electrical or construction trades is preferred. Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional nights, weekends, or overtime, as project needs require.
