Caring for People & Their Spaces. We are looking for an experienced Microvellum Cabinet Designer to join our growing team in Austin, Texas . This is an excellent opportunity for a cabinet designer who is open to relocating to Austin for the right long-term career opportunity. In this role, you'll transform design concepts into detailed, production-ready cabinet drawings that support high-quality residential construction projects. You'll work closely with project managers, architects, interior designers, estimators, and production teams to make sure each design is accurate, buildable, and ready for manufacturing. If you have strong Microvellum experience, understand custom cabinetry and millwork, and enjoy solving design challenges from concept through production, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Do As our Microvellum Cabinet Designer, you'll be responsible for translating architectural and interior design concepts into precise cabinet designs and production documentation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Design custom cabinetry and architectural millwork using Microvellum. Produce detailed shop drawings, cabinet layouts, elevations, sections, and production documents. Develop cut lists, material specifications, and CNC-ready drawings. Review architectural plans and interior design drawings to ensure cabinetry integrates seamlessly with the overall project. Collaborate with project managers, designers, estimators, and production teams to identify and resolve design challenges before production begins. Verify dimensions through field measurements and occasional site visits when required. Revise drawings based on client selections, design changes, field conditions, and project requirements. Maintain accurate and organized project files and drawing documentation. Help establish and improve drafting standards, workflows, and production processes. Ensure completed designs meet company quality standards and are accurate and ready for manufacturing. What Success Looks Like During your first year, success in this role will mean: Consistently delivering accurate, production-ready cabinet drawings on schedule. Minimizing production issues and revisions through careful planning and attention to detail. Communicating effectively with project and production teams to keep projects moving smoothly. Developing a strong understanding of Skelly Build's design and production standards. Contributing ideas that improve drafting efficiency, consistency, and overall workflow. What We're Looking For 3+ years of cabinet design experience using Microvellum. Experience designing custom residential cabinetry and architectural millwork . Strong understanding of cabinet construction methods, materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes. Ability to read and interpret architectural, construction, and interior design plans. Experience creating detailed production drawings and CNC-ready documentation. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify potential production issues before they occur. Experience with AutoCAD, Cabinet Vision, or other cabinet/design software is a plus. Willingness and ability to relocate to Austin, Texas.
