Custom Trade Show Exhibit Fabricator & Cabinet Maker Full-Time | Production & Fabrication About the Role We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Trade Show Exhibit Fabricator & Cabinet Maker to join our production team. In this role, you will bring complex architectural renderings, custom trade show displays, and high-end millwork from CAD drawings to physical reality. The ideal candidate possesses strong fine-woodworking skills, multi-material fabrication experience, a sharp eye for detail, and a collaborative mindset. Job Overview Position Type Full-Time Location Wharton, NJ Department Production & Fabrication Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Occasional OT & Travel) Compensation Competitive hourly rate based on experience Key Responsibilities Fabrication & Assembly Construct and assemble custom trade show exhibits, casework, displays, and architectural millwork according to technical blueprints and specifications. Work with a wide variety of materials, including hardwoods, plywood, laminates, acrylics/plastics, metals, and composite substrates. Conduct rigorous quality control checks throughout fabrication to ensure components match structural and aesthetic design intent. Shop Operations & Safety Safely and efficiently operate standard woodworking machinery, including table saws, routers, miter saws, band saws, and edgebanders. Interpret shop drawings, CAD elevations, cut lists, and material specs accurately. Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant shop workspace. Logistics & On-Site Support Assist in prepping, packing, and crating finished exhibits for safe transport. Participate in occasional travel for on-site exhibit installation and dismantle at convention venues. Collaborate closely with project managers, CAD designers, and shop supervisors to meet tight production deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
3+ years of experience in custom cabinet making, trade show exhibit fabrication, or architectural millwork.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in reading blueprints, shop drawings, and cut lists.
Material Knowledge:
Demonstrated expertise working with laminates, hardwoods, veneers, and plastics.
Physical Capabilities:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform physical assembly tasks.
Licensing:
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred / Bonus
Qualifications Experience operating or programming CNC routers. Knowledge of basic low-voltage electrical/LED lighting integration for display structures. Familiarity with graphic application and vinyl mounting for exhibit panels. Forklift certification.
