This will be our first dedicated fabrication hire, so this is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to be involved in building a shop operation from the ground up. You will initially work closely alongside ownership to learn our fabrication methods, existing processes, customer requirements, and the practical knowledge we have developed through years of field and fabrication work. The primary focus of this position is solid surface fabrication, cabinetry, casework, and related shop work. As our fabrication volume grows, there will be significant opportunity for increased responsibility and advancement. The right person could eventually grow into a shop lead or management role as we add additional fabricators and expand the department. What You'll Do Solid Surface & Cabinet Fabrication Fabricate solid surface countertops, backsplashes, components, and custom fixtures Work with Corian and other solid surface materials Cut, seam, glue, route, sand, finish, and repair solid surface Build cabinets, casework, substrates, and custom components Read field measurements, drawings, sketches, and fabrication plans Lay out projects accurately and determine efficient fabrication methods Operate table saws, routers, sanders, CNC equipment, and other woodworking and fabrication tools Build and use jigs, templates, fixtures, and repeatable fabrication setups Maintain high standards for fit, finish, appearance, and dimensional accuracy Help improve material yield and reduce waste Prepare completed projects for delivery and installation Field Installation This is primarily a fabrication position, but you will also occasionally participate in field installations.

Installation work may include:

Delivering and installing countertops, cabinetry, casework, and fabricated components Retrofitting solid surface components in existing commercial environments Making field adjustments when conditions differ from measurements or drawings Completing seams, finishing, and final adjustments onsite Working with field technicians to ensure fabricated projects install correctly We believe seeing projects through installation makes for a stronger fabricator and helps continuously improve how projects are measured, designed, and built. Building and Improving the Shop Because our fabrication operation is growing, you will also have the opportunity to help shape how the shop functions.

This may include:

Improving shop layout and workflow Organizing fabrication materials, tools, and equipment Building racks, workstations, jigs, storage solutions, and fixtures Helping determine the best locations for materials and equipment Improving how jobs move through the shop Helping establish repeatable fabrication and quality-control processes During slower fabrication periods, you may also assist with productive shop and warehouse improvement projects and material organization. This is not a general warehouse position. Fabrication is the primary responsibility of this role. Physical & Driving Requirements Must be able to safely lift, carry, and maneuver heavy sheet goods, countertops, cabinets, and other fabrication materials, with assistance or material-handling equipment when appropriate Must be comfortable performing physically demanding shop and installation work, including lifting, carrying, bending, standing, and working with large fabricated components Forklift experience or certification is a plus; company-paid forklift certification will be provided if needed Must possess a valid driver's license Employees who drive company vehicles or drive for company business must meet and maintain the eligibility requirements of the company's vehicle insurance carrier A safe driving record is required. License suspensions, OVI/DUI offenses, or other serious driving violations may disqualify a candidate from positions requiring company driving Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following is valuable: Solid surface fabrication Corian fabrication Countertop fabrication Cabinetmaking Commercial casework Custom millwork CNC routing Woodworking Laminate fabrication Countertop or cabinet installation We are willing to teach our specific processes to someone who already has strong fabrication fundamentals, mechanical ability, attention to detail, and a desire to learn. The person hired into this position will have the opportunity to work directly with ownership while the department is being developed and will gain exposure to the systems, techniques, customer requirements, and production methods behind the operation. As additional fabricators and shop employees are hired, opportunities may develop for: Lead fabricator responsibilities Training new employees Production planning Shop coordination Quality control Equipment and workflow decisions Shop lead or management responsibility Advancement will be based on performance, capability, leadership, and the level of responsibility the employee demonstrates over time.
