Senior Oil Burner / Heating Technician Fong & Sullivan Heating and Cooling LLC is looking for a top-notch, experienced Oil Burner Technician to join our growing team. We are not looking for someone who simply changes parts and moves on to the next call. We are looking for a true professional who understands oil-fired heating systems, knows how to properly diagnose problems, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is capable of handling service calls independently. Responsibilities Perform professional service, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, repair, and installation of residential oil-fired heating systems. Diagnose and repair oil burners, boilers, furnaces, pumps, controls, circulators, zone valves, thermostats, and related heating components. Perform annual oil burner cleanings, tune-ups, combustion testing, safety checks, and efficiency testing. Accurately diagnose heating system problems and determine the appropriate repair — not just replace parts until something works . Install, start up, commission, and troubleshoot new oil-fired heating equipment. Perform heating system replacements, upgrades, and installations according to manufacturer specifications and applicable codes. Service and troubleshoot residential AC and heat pump systems when qualified. Identify additional system issues and clearly communicate recommended repairs and solutions to customers. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment. Complete service documentation accurately and thoroughly. Use company technology and software to document calls, equipment, diagnostics, repairs, and recommendations. Participate in an on-call rotation as needed. What We Expect From Our Technicians Experience is required. This is NOT an entry-level position. Strong working knowledge of residential oil-fired furnaces, boilers, burners, and hydronic heating systems. Ability to confidently diagnose mechanical, electrical, control, and combustion-related problems . Strong understanding of proper burner setup, combustion analysis, draft, efficiency, and safe operating procedures. Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical components. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field. Strong attention to detail and commitment to doing the job right the first time . Professional appearance and excellent customer communication skills. Respect for customers' homes and property. Dependable, punctual, organized, and accountable. Valid driver's license and reliable driving record. Willingness to continue learning and improving your skills.

HUGE PLUS

ServiceTitan experience is a huge plus. Experience servicing and troubleshooting residential AC and heat pump systems is a huge plus. EPA certification. Oil burner certifications/licenses. Experience with both hydronic and forced-air heating systems. Experience with modern diagnostic equipment and combustion analyzers.
