We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to join our clinical team. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in ensuring surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared to support outstanding patient care and surgical outcomes. Position Summary The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies. This role plays a critical part in maintaining patient safety by ensuring all instruments and equipment are processed according to manufacturer instructions, regulatory requirements, and facility policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments according to manufacturer instructions and facility policies. Operate sterilizers, ultrasonic washers, and other sterile processing equipment. Perform biological, chemical, and mechanical monitoring tests and maintain sterilization records. Inspect instruments for cleanliness, damage, and proper function. Wrap, label, and store sterile supplies and instrument trays. Maintain inventory levels and assist with supply management. Conduct routine inspections of sterile items and remove outdated or compromised supplies. Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards. Assist with instrument tray organization and case cart preparation. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient sterile processing department. Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding instrument needs and equipment issues. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Knowledge of sterile technique and instrument sterilization processes. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment. Preferred Qualifications Sterile Processing experience in a hospital, ambulatory surgery center, or surgical setting. Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience. Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification. Experience with surgical instrumentation and inventory management systems. Familiarity with ENT surgical instruments and equipment.
