Job Description

Chemical Operator Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Chemical Operator to join our team in Martin, SC . The ideal candidate will have at least one year of chemical manufacturing experience and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of chemical processing equipment and supporting production activities in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Operate reactors, scrubber systems, vacuum systems, mechanical seals, filters, pumps and related process equipment. Safely operate a forklift to support production and material handling activities. Handle and transport gas cylinders using proper safety procedures and equipment. Climb ladders and access elevated work areas as required during a shift. Troubleshoot equipment, process issues, and operational challenges. Assist with training through hands-on demonstrations and verbal instruction. Follow all operating procedures, safety protocols, and environmental compliance requirements. Effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to support production goals. Maintain awareness of hot work permits and participate in incident reporting and investigations. Conduct routine inspections to ensure proper housekeeping, labeling, and organization. Collaborate with Process Chemists and Engineers during start-up, commissioning, and training activities. Manage chemical inventories and support waste handling and disposal procedures. Accurately complete batch records and material movement documentation. Monitor process equipment, evaluate instrument readings, and identify operational issues requiring corrective action. Qualifications Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a chemical manufacturing or chemical processing environment. Demonstrated employment stability and job longevity preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE.
