Production Technician
Production Technicians at
BASF ECMS
site in Seneca supports operations in a high-security chemical manufacturing facility, helping produce and package materials safely, efficiently, and in compliance with strict security, safety, and quality requirements. This position involves operating production equipment, monitoring process conditions, completing documentation, and supporting material movement throughout the production area. The facility is not climate controlled, and respirator use may be required depending on the task and work area.
Key Responsibilities
Operate, monitor, and adjust production equipment and processes in accordance with written procedures
Perform production tasks such as batching/processing support, packaging, labeling, staging, and general line support (as assigned)
Complete required documentation (production, quality, safety, and inventory records) accurately and on time
Conduct basic equipment checks, assist with troubleshooting, and escalate issues to leads/supervision
Follow all site safety, security, environmental, and quality policies and expectations
Maintain housekeeping standards and keep work areas audit-ready (organization/5S expectations)
Support material handling and internal logistics activities, including loading/unloading and staging materials
Operate a forklift as needed (training and certification provided)
Work overtime, extended shifts, and schedule changes as required by production demand
Forklift Training & Certification
Associates will be trained and certified to operate a forklift and must follow all powered industrial truck safety requirements and site policies.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Non-climate controlled environment (temperatures will vary by season)
Respirator may be required for certain tasks/areas; must be able to wear respiratory protection when needed
Must be clean shaven to meet respirator fit and safety requirements
Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods and perform physically active work throughout a 12-hour shift
Must be able to safely work around chemicals, industrial equipment, and moving machinery while wearing required PPE
Security & Pre-Employment Requirements (Mandatory)
Due to the high-security nature of the facility:
Must pass an extensive background check
Must complete a physical exam with onsite medical prior to starting
Must be able to comply with strict security procedures for site access and controlled areas
Qualifications
Manufacturing/production experience preferred (chemical or industrial environment a plus)
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written work instructions and safety procedures
Reliable attendance and ability to work a rotating 12-hour schedule (days and nights)
Willingness to work required overtime
