REFINERY OPERATOR TRAINEE - 8HR

(NQ)

JOB DUTIES

Responsible for maintaining product quality in a safe manner.

Perform visual rounds for assigned area
Assess equipment operation
Take instrument readings
Communicate with console operator, supervision, and other refinery personnel via radio operations
Prepare equipment for scheduled maintenance
Perform preventative maintenance
Perform basic instrument and equipment troubleshooting to determine if technician support is Required
Make equipment adjustments to optimize performance
Maintain housekeeping for common and assigned areas
Comply with all environmental and safety procedures
Respond to fires, chemical or petroleum spills, leaks, injuries, etc. as necessary.
Required to work 12 hour rotating shifts (days and nights) which include holidays and weekends
Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Must have the ability to legally work in the US.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Refinery, Chemical Process Operator, mechanical, or industrial experience preferred.
Associate Degree in process operations or higher education in petrochemical process or related operations preferred.
Emergency Response experience preferred.
Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Three Rivers Refinery is required.
