The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience operating Onsrud CNC equipment in a manufacturing or production environment. This position is responsible for safely operating CNC machinery, loading programs and materials, monitoring machine performance, verifying part quality, and helping keep production running efficiently. We are looking for someone who understands that accuracy, quality, machine uptime, and material utilization are critical in a production environment. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate Onsrud CNC equipment used in the manufacturing of RV components. Load and run CNC programs according to production schedules, drawings, and specifications. Load and position sheet materials correctly for machining. Verify tooling, programs, material, and machine setup before beginning production. Monitor CNC operation to ensure parts are being cut accurately and efficiently. Inspect completed parts for dimensions, quality, and conformance to drawings and specifications. Identify and troubleshoot machine, tooling, program, and cutting issues. Change router bits, cutting tools, and other tooling as required. Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance. Maintain proper dust collection and keep the CNC work area clean and organized. Minimize scrap and maximize material utilization. Report damaged material, incorrect programs, machine issues, and quality concerns immediately. Accurately identify and organize completed parts for downstream production. Work closely with Engineering, Production, Maintenance, and Quality when issues arise. Follow all company safety procedures and CNC operating requirements. Assist with continuous improvement efforts to increase CNC productivity, quality, and machine uptime. Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience operating Onsrud CNC equipment. Previous CNC experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings, dimensions, and work instructions. Experience setting up CNC machines, selecting/changing tooling, and running production programs. Ability to identify CNC cutting, tooling, and machine problems. Experience working with sheet goods such as plywood, wood products, composites, plastics, or similar materials. Ability to use measuring tools to verify finished parts. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently while also communicating effectively with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating C.R. Onsrud CNC routers . Experience with CNC nesting and optimizing sheet material utilization. Experience with ARDIS Optimizer or similar nesting/optimization software . Experience manufacturing cabinets, furniture, RV components, or other wood/composite assemblies. Basic CNC troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience. Familiarity with CAD/CAM-generated CNC files and programs. Experience in high-mix manufacturing where CNC programs and parts change frequently. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on CNC operator who can do more than simply push the start button. We want someone who understands the machine, recognizes when something is not cutting correctly, protects material from unnecessary scrap, and takes ownership of the quality of the parts coming off the CNC. Because our CNC operation supports RV production, accuracy and uptime are extremely important. A bad cut or incorrect part can affect multiple downstream departments and potentially interrupt production. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of keeping the machine running correctly, and can help us continuously improve our CNC operation. Experience Requirement A minimum of 2 years of hands-on Onsrud CNC operating experience is required. Previous experience in RV, cabinet, furniture, woodworking, or other manufacturing environments using CNC-routed sheet materials is strongly preferred.
