Our Airlite - Canopy division is located in Oxnard, CA. Canopy is manufacturer of beauty and personal care packaging that focuses on product quality and exceptional customer service. Our product lines include a wide variety of jars, closures, and decorated packaging. How would you contribute? This role is a contributing member of our Airlite Plastics team, located in Oxnard, CA. As a CNC Operator you are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. The CNC Operator is responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate parts and components. This role involves interpreting blueprints, setting up and programming machines, and ensuring products meet quality standards.
Essential Duties:
Study and interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, and orthographic drawings. Plan machining processes to meet project specifications. Monitor inventory levels, anticipate supply needs, and coordinate with procurement to maintain adequate stock. Enter instructions into CNC machines for milling and lathing operations. Install and adjust machine components like chucks, tools, and attachments. Safely load materials into CNC machines and oversee the machining process. Verify machine settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces. Ensure finished products meet design specifications. Conduct routine maintenance and report any need for repairs to ensure machine functionality. Maintain accurate documentation of operations, quality checks, safety logs, inventory activity, and labor hours for each job. Follow all safety protocols and maintain compliance with company and regulatory safety standards. Stay current with machining techniques and participate in training or development opportunities. Maintain company attendance standards. Perform training for new hires. Share job related knowledge and experiences with other shop employees as needed. Uphold and support company values, goals, and operational expectations. Maintain housekeeping standards. Attend work regularly as scheduled, including weekend or overtime work as assigned. Successful candidates for the role will possess the following: Q ualifications, knowledge, skills abilities required: High School Diploma or equivalent, and 5 years of machining experience to include CNC and manual machines Ability to read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and procedure manuals in English. Ability to understand and apply mathematical concepts. Knowledge of and ability to use basic hand tools. Capability to utilize problem solving skills. Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects/activities/goals. Must be able to work well with other, build partnerships and support team members. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and tactful in dealing with people at all levels. Must be self-motivated and positive. Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations. Display highest ethical standards. Maintain the utmost level of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information. Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills with the ability to operate Microsoft Office products. Upholds and supports organizational goals and values. Takes initiative and asks for help when needed. Ability to work regular overtime, including weekends and holidays as required by company maintenance priorities, machine installation schedules and plant emergencies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is seasonally and moderately exposed to humid conditions and heat. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, the risk of electrical shock and exposure to extreme molten plastic temperature.
