Job Summary CNC Lathe Operator The Sheffer Corporation - Morrow, GA The Sheffer Corporation, a leading manufacturer of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing quality parts, understands machining fundamentals, and enjoys working in a team-oriented manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC lathes to manufacture parts according to prints and specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and machining specifications. Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet required tolerances and quality standards. Use measuring and inspection equipment, including tape measures, calipers, micrometers and go/no-go gauges. Make necessary machine adjustments and tool offsets to maintain part quality. Inspect tooling and replace inserts or tools as needed. Monitor machines during production and identify potential machining or quality issues. Maintain accurate production and inspection records. Follow established safety, quality, and housekeeping procedures. Work cooperatively with supervisors, quality personnel, and other members of the production team. Qualifications 6+ Months of previous CNC lathe machining experience preferred. Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes is strongly preferred. Ability to read and understand blueprints and basic machining specifications. Must be comfortable using tape measures, calipers, and micrometers to verify dimensions. Understanding of machining tolerances and basic shop math. Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and make appropriate adjustments.
