Job Description for EDM Machine Operator (in addition to culture first practices of positive attitude, solid work ethic and attention to detail). Set up and operate tube cutting equipment. Load tubes into aluminum fixture plates and secure with small bolts. Then load fixtures into machines which automatically cut the parts to specified lengths. Programming is simple to learn for someone with above average aptitude, we have taught high schoolers how to run these machines in less than a week. X-Y-Z movements on a CNC machine. Measure parts with calipers/visual to ensure they meet specification requirements Run ultrasonic cleaners to clean parts after they are cut, and dry via compressed air blow, oven dry or other means Adhere to quality requirements for each job. Follow work order instructions and documentation procedures. Keep a neat and organized workplace Reading of simple blueprints to interpret dimensions and tolerances. We can teach. Our parts are not that hard. Try to stay away from typical CNC machining candidates who are used to CNC lathe and milling work. They want too much $ and this is very low level CNC--- we had a high school grad learn it in a few days. Not advanced. So we don't need EDM or CNC experience so much as we need someone with decent handskills who also has a higher than average aptitude. It's easier for us to teach good habits that unteach bad habits. Not much heavy lifting in this position. Starting salary for this role is 58-65K, Full time 45-50 hours a week, 16 days

This is a higher skill position than our typical operators because it involves expensive equipment and capacity to program machines. Not for a low cog / low skill person.
