Swiss & Lathe Machine Setup Operator Location:
Woburn, MA 01801
Job Type:
Full-Time, Direct Hire Shift:
2nd Shift- 3:30pm to 11:30pm

$30-$35/hour , based on experience

Manufacturing Join Our Manufacturing Team! We're looking for a skilled Swiss & Lathe Machine Setup Operator to join our manufacturing team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced machinist who takes pride in precision, quality, and efficiency. What You'll Do Set up and operate Swiss and CNC lathe machines. Load materials, unload finished parts, and perform deburring as needed. Install and align fixtures, tooling, and cutting tools. Load and verify CNC programs and establish machine offsets. Adjust tool offsets and setups to maintain part quality and specifications. Read CNC programs and interpret tool paths. Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM, and other inspection equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and quality requirements. Complete production and quality documentation. Operate multiple machines when required. Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and safe. Troubleshoot machining issues and communicate problems to supervisors, engineers, or senior machinists. Help train team members on equipment and processes when qualified. What We're Looking For High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. Manufacturing, CNC machining, Swiss, or lathe setup experience preferred. Vocational/technical or advanced manufacturing education is a plus. Ability to read blueprints and CNC programs. Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers. Basic computer skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Multitasking machine setup experience is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and move throughout the manufacturing environment. Ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Ability to work safely around moving machinery and moderate noise.
