Job Summary:
The CNC Operator is responsible for operating CNC foam-cutting machines to produce precision components used in medical, athletic, and recreational products. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a light-industrial production environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
Operate CNC cutting equipment in accordance with production schedules and specifications. Load and unload foam materials onto the machine safely and efficiently. Read and interpret CAD files, technical drawings, and work instructions. Monitor cutting operations and inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality. Make machine adjustments and minor edits to programs as needed. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Document machine settings, production output, and material usage
Quality Control:
Perform regular inspections of materials, products, and finished goods to ensure they meet quality standards per our product standards & work instructions. Identify defects, errors, or deviations from production specifications and take corrective a report any quality issues to supervisors.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Report safety hazards, accidents, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
Complete required production logs, including tracking units produced, machine settings, and any issues encountered. Report production progress and discrepancies to supervisors or managers. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including machine maintenance and quality inspections.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other operators, supervisors, and departments to achieve production goals. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Continuous Improvement:
Suggest and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, or improve safety. Participate in improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce production costs.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Additional vocational training or certifications related to manufacturing or machinery operation is a plus.
Experience:
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably as a machine operator or in a production role, is preferred but not required.
Required Skills:
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently. Basic math skills for measuring materials and tracking production. History of good attendance is essential Experience Operating a CNC or a foam cutting machine (at least 5 years) Programming experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for the entirety of your shift. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly. Ability to work in varying temperatures and factory conditions. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$21.00 - $24.00 per hour
