Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Swiss Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC Swiss lathes to produce precision metal components. Your expertise will ensure high-quality production standards are met while adhering to safety protocols and manufacturing best practices. Responsibilities Set up CNC Swiss lathes, including tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters, to prepare for production runs. Program CNC Swiss machines utilizing G-code, M-code, and CAM programming software to produce complex parts accurately. Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise machining operations. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other quality inspection tools to verify part dimensions and tolerances. Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments to optimize performance and minimize downtime. Utilize CAD software such as SolidWorks and CAD programs for design verification and tooling development. Operate manual machining tools like grinders, hand tools, and power tools when necessary for setup or finishing tasks. Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall quality. Conduct quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process to ensure parts meet specifications using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Maintain detailed documentation of production activities, inspection reports, and machine logs in compliance with quality standards. Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC Swiss lathes with proficiency in CNC G-code programming and Mazatrol controls. Strong understanding of machining tools including grinders, mills, lathes (manual and CNC), and associated tooling. Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus. Ability to read mechanical blueprints accurately and interpret mechanical blueprints with complex features. Mechanical knowledge combined with basic math skills for precise measurements and calculations. Familiarity with measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Experience with CNC quality inspection techniques including measurement in quality control environments. Skilled in machine setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on CNC machinery such as Fanuc controls or similar systems. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.
