Job Description

Entry Level CNC Machine Operator Mountain Tactical Company | Bozeman, MT Full-time, on-site | No machining experience required You've got a good work ethic. Come see what you can do with it. Maybe you're ready for a change, but the jobs that interest you ask for experience you haven't had a chance to get. We'd like to give you that chance. At Mountain Tactical, we make precision rifle accessories right here in Bozeman for hunters and shooters around the world. We're growing, and we're looking for someone who wants to learn the work and take pride in what they make. You don't need machining experience or a trade school diploma. We'll train the right person. If you DO have experience, we'd love to have you join the team. You might have spent the last few years in a busy kitchen, keeping your station organized, catching mistakes, and making sure your team could count on you. You might come from construction, retail, or something else entirely. If you pay attention, follow through, and pick things up as you go, you've got something we can build on.
A team worth joining:
Who you work with matters. So does how you're treated when you're learning. Here, we expect people to help each other. Ask the question. Share what you know. If someone's struggling, lend a hand. We've all had a first day. We care about getting the details right, and we're willing to keep working at it. If you notice a better way to do something, we want to hear it. If you make a mistake, tell us so we can work through it and learn from it. Our company values put names to those expectations:
United We Grow:
Help each other get better and succeed as a team.
Live Ready:
Take care of yourself and show up ready to contribute.
Kaizen:
Keep making the work more accurate, reliable, and repeatable.
Call Your Shot:
Follow through, flag problems early, and own your mistakes. Those expectations go for all of us. What you'll learn and do: You'll work with our lead machinist to learn how to operate CNC machines and inspect the parts they produce.
Your day will include:
Loading materials and running machines according to work instructions. Monitoring production and making tool or offset changes as directed. Measuring parts, recording results, and identifying anything outside specifications. Speaking up when a measurement, process, or machine needs attention. Keeping your machines and work area clean, organized, and safe. Some of the work is repetitive. Every part still needs your attention. This role suits someone who can settle into a process and keep doing it carefully throughout the day. The shop is loud and fast-paced. You'll spend much of the day on your feet and need to lift up to 50 pounds. What you get out of it: You'll build practical skills in machining, measurement, and production, with training and opportunities to keep learning. You'll see the results of your work in finished parts that leave our Bozeman shop and go into the hands of customers around the world. We also offer paid time off, paid holidays, and employee product discounts under company policy. Tell us what you've done and why you're interested. If you've never worked in a machine shop, tell us about work you've taken pride in or a time your team counted on you. We'd like to hear what you can bring to ours.
