Job Description

M. Cohen and Sons, Inc. is seeking a CNC Plasma / Waterjet Operator to join our fabrication team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC plasma or waterjet cutting equipment, inspecting finished parts for quality, and supporting efficient fabrication operations. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, comfortable working independently, and able to read basic drawings and use standard measuring tools. Previous fabrication or CNC equipment experience is preferred.

Location:
Broomall, PA Responsibilities Set up and safely operate CNC plasma cutting tables and/or CNC waterjet equipment. Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and work instructions. Load, position, and move materials and finished parts using overhead cranes and other material-handling equipment. Perform quality checks throughout the production process. Use measuring tools, including tape measures and calipers, to verify part dimensions. Grind, deburr, label, and organize finished parts as required. Accurately complete quality control and production documentation. Identify defective or nonconforming parts and follow established procedures for reporting and handling them. Perform routine maintenance and basic upkeep of CNC plasma or waterjet equipment. Cut, organize, and remove scrap material as needed. Prioritize work assignments to support production schedules. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements. Perform additional fabrication and production duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and drawings. Ability to use basic measuring equipment, including tape measures and calipers. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred:
Previous experience operating CNC plasma, waterjet, or similar fabrication equipment. Previous experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment. Experience using overhead cranes and material-handling equipment. Work Environment This position works in a manufacturing and fabrication environment. Employees may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical equipment, vibration, and varying temperatures or other environmental conditions. Noise levels may be loud. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided as required. Employees are expected to properly use all required PPE and follow applicable safety procedures. While performing this job, the employee is frequently required to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Squat, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, twist, and reach. Reach overhead and outward. Frequently lift and/or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Perform work requiring close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision and the ability to adjust focus. Wear a fit-tested respirator when required for assigned work.
