Job Description

Summary Ability to operate and run to standard Process Equipment and Offline Equipment, such as Studer, Okamoto ID/OD grinders, sandblasting, Brown& Sharp surface grinder etc. while adhering to strict quality, cost and delivery objectives for assigned projects. Maintain a safe working environment per OSHA standards throughout the plant and assist in implementing any required updated safety regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities style="margin-top:7.0px
  • -Independent, safe, responsible operation of all the equipment necessary for the production of super-abrasives and related products within specified work assignment.
  • Operate automated machinery, lathes, mills, furnaces, wire EDMs, and robotic equipment.
  • Perform hand assemblies of product, blends, sieved material, and other as required.
  • Operate and interpret results from measuring tools, gauges, scales, microscopes, go/no go gauges, CMM and visual standards.
  • Perform minor tooling changes, setup and troubleshooting on production equipment. Assist area experts in completing higher difficulty tooling setup, changeovers and troubleshooting.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks including lubrication, filter changes, equipment cleanliness, and other as necessary.
  • Perform training of others with respect to the safe and responsible operation of assigned manufacturing equipment mentioned above.
  • Adhere to documented work instructions: PPF, POCI, EOI, JSA, assembly prints, and other as needed.
  • Assure product and process quality measures are maintained. Communicate quality concerns to relevant technical support personnel. Qualifications style="margin-top:7.0px
  • -Proven independent performer that needs minimal supervision
  • Ability to use production management tools including LEAN, material management systems, and maintenance of accurate throughput and quality records.
  • Manual dexterity required to accurately handle and position parts.
  • Walking and standing on the shop floor for extended periods throughout the day.
  • Lifting and transport of materials (up to
  • 40 lbs).
  • Ability to comprehend and apply training to operate manufacturing production equipment listed above.
  • Ability to effectively balance priorities and multiple tasks to achieve overall production goals.
  • Must be available to work overtime during periods of high order volume.
  • Basic computer competency (email, data entry into Material Mgmt. Systems, log notes in MSWord)
  • MUST be able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift. Education and/or Work Experience style="margin-top:7.0px
  • -High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 years previous experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment.
