Job Description

Are you an experienced CNC Mill Machinist who enjoys challenging, precision work rather than repetitive production machining? In this 2nd shift role, you will set up and operate CNC milling equipment to machine large, complex, and often high-value components used in turbomachinery revamp and repair projects. Work may include both new and repaired components supporting compressors, turbines, and other critical rotating equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mill machinist who is comfortable working from engineering drawings, holding tight tolerances, troubleshooting machining conditions, and taking ownership of a job from setup through final dimensional verification. Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture and repair precision components according to drawings, specifications, setup sheets, and established CNC programs. Operate

5-axis CNC machining centers and other CNC milling equipment. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and applicable GD&T requirements. Review job requirements and verify correct material, tooling, fixtures, programs, and setup prior to machining. Install and properly secure workpieces, fixtures, cutting tools, and other required tooling. Establish and verify machine work offsets, tool offsets, and reference points. Perform machine setup, program prove-out, dry runs, and first-piece verification as required. Make appropriate tool, wear, and dimensional offsets to maintain required tolerances. Perform minor CNC program edits at the machine when necessary and within established authorization and operating procedures. Monitor machining operations and identify abnormal machine conditions, tool wear, chatter, dimensional variation, or other process issues. Select and change cutting tools based on material, operation, tool condition, and machining requirements. Apply working knowledge of speeds, feeds, tooling, workholding, and machining practices to support safe and efficient production. Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, depth gauges, indicators, height gauges, and other inspection equipment to verify part dimensions. Perform in-process inspections and document measurements as required by FOX quality procedures. Identify and report nonconforming conditions and work with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and CNC Programming personnel to resolve machining issues. Safely machine a variety of materials, which may include carbon steels, stainless steels, alloy steels, and exotic or high-temperature alloys. Handle and machine large, complex, and high-value components with a strong emphasis on avoiding scrap, rework, or component damage. Maintain accurate production, inspection, tooling, and job documentation. Perform routine machine cleaning and operator-level preventive maintenance. Maintain tooling, fixtures, work areas, and equipment in a clean and organized condition. Follow all applicable safety procedures, machine guarding requirements, and FOX policies. Support continuous improvement initiatives involving machining processes, tooling, setups, cycle time, quality, and productivity. Coordinate effectively with operators on other shifts to ensure proper job and machine handoffs. Perform other related duties as assigned.
