Job Description
Read blueprints and work orders to determine dimensions, tolerances, and material types. Set up machines by installing blades, setting feed speeds, adjusting stops, and securing raw stock. Operate saws (horizontal, vertical, or band saws) to cut plate, sheet, bar stock, or lumber efficiently and safely. Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and tape measures. Perform maintenance such as cleaning machines, clearing jams, and changing worn blades with basic hand tools.
