JOB DESCRIPTION
Position:

CNC Operator / Machinist

Location:

McAllen, Texas

Industry:

Manufacturing / Oil & Gas Position summary

Run established production safely and accurately under the technical direction of the Senior CNC Programmer / Setup Machinist, with a defined path toward setup qualification.

Compensation:

$21-$25/hour, depending on CNC lathe experience and demonstrated inspection/setup capability Minimum qualifications

2+ years of CNC machining or machine-operation experience preferred.

CNC lathe/turning-center experience strongly preferred; Mazak/MAZATROL is a plus, not required.

Ability to read drawings, work instructions, tolerances, and setup sheets.

Basic knowledge of tooling, inserts, offsets, speeds/feeds, and precision measurement.

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational CNC training is a plus.

Reliable, safety-focused, careful, and willing to follow established processes. Primary responsibilities

Safely load, run, monitor, and unload established CNC turning jobs.

Perform approved changes and routine tool-offset adjustments within documented limits.

Inspect first-piece and in-process dimensions; document results and preserve traceability.

Recognize tool wear, chatter, vibration, chip/coolant problems, unusual noise, and dimensional variation; stop and escalate when required.

Assist with chuck, tooling, tailstock, steady-rest, and workholding changes under direction.

Perform daily pre-start checks, coolant/chip management, housekeeping, and proper shutdown.

Do not independently create new programs or alter unapproved workholding/processes until trained and authorized. Safety and physical environment

Follow guarding, interlock, PPE, lockout/tagout, lifting, and material-handling requirements.

Never reach into a rota9ng work zone, bypass safeguards, or continue through an unexplained abnormal condi9on.

Use approved lifting equipment for heavy workpieces and tooling.

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and perform the essential functions of the job, with reasonable accommodation where applicable. Performance expectations Safety and procedure compliance.

First-pass quality and complete inspection records.

Stable production, appropriate escalation, and care of equipment/tooling.
