PM Pay Rate:

$35.00 per hour Position Summary We are seeking an experienced CNC Setup Operator to prepare, set up, and operate CNC and conventional machining equipment to produce high-quality metal components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong machining and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and experience editing G-code and M-code programs.

Required Qualification:

Must have prior experience editing G-code and M-code. Key Responsibilities Set up, prepare, and operate CNC machines and conventional machine tools, including lathes, mills, and grinders. Edit and make adjustments to G-code and M-code programs to support machining operations and meet part specifications. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, and work orders to determine machining requirements. Select, install, and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and attachments based on job requirements. Set machine parameters, offsets, and tooling to ensure accurate and efficient production. Load and unload workpieces, ensuring proper positioning, secure fixturing, and safe material handling. Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy. Inspect and measure finished parts using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools. Verify that completed parts meet required specifications, tolerances, and quality standards. Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, programming, machine operation, and equipment performance. Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of worn tooling or components as needed. Maintain accurate production records, including machine setups, program changes, tooling adjustments, inspection results, and production quantities. Follow all safety procedures and established machining practices to maintain a safe and organized work environment. Work with team members, supervisors, and quality personnel to meet production schedules and support continuous improvement. Required Skills and Qualifications Previous experience setting up and operating CNC machinery. Demonstrated experience editing G-code and M-code programs. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and machining specifications. Knowledge of CNC machine setup, tooling selection, workholding, offsets, and machine adjustments. Experience using precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions and tolerances. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to identify machining defects and make appropriate adjustments to maintain quality. Understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, and material requirements. Ability to work independently and manage multiple production priorities. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
