In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating advanced CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision-engineered components. Your expertise in CNC machining, tooling, blueprint interpretation, and measurement will ensure the highest quality standards are met while maintaining efficient production workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment and contribute to innovative manufacturing projects that demand precision and technical excellence. Duties Develop and write CNC programs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD to produce detailed machining instructions for CNC milling machines, lathes, and 5-axis CNC machines. Set up CNC machinery by selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and measuring instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and engineering drawings to ensure accurate machining processes aligned with design specifications. Operate CNC equipment efficiently while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards; perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on Fanuc controls and other CNC systems. Conduct precision measurements during machining processes to verify dimensions using measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMMs; adjust programs as needed for optimal accuracy. Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity in the machining environment. Collaborate with engineering teams on CAD design modifications and provide feedback on tooling or process improvements for enhanced performance. Qualifications Proven experience programming and operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathes, milling machines, or 5-axis CNC machines in a manufacturing setting. Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and CAM programming tools for creating precise machining instructions. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, schematic interpretation, and mechanical blueprint analysis. Familiarity with Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems; ability to troubleshoot control issues effectively. Knowledge of metal machining processes including electrical discharge machining (EDM) and the use of various CNC tooling setups. Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret engineering schematics accurately for complex parts fabrication. Experience with measurement techniques using precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficient workflow and waste reduction in production processes. Strong math skills relevant to machining calculations; ability to interpret geometrical data for precise manufacturing outcomes. Join us if you're passionate about precision engineering and eager to contribute your technical expertise in a fast-paced manufacturing environment!
