CNC Programmer Job Description We are seeking a CNC Programmer to develop, implement, validate, and troubleshoot CNC programs used to manufacture complex precision components. This role works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Production teams to create efficient machining processes that support quality, delivery, and cost objectives. The CNC Programmer will play a key role in process development, machining optimization, production support, problem resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires strong programming expertise, manufacturing process knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. Responsibilities Develop, validate, and optimize CNC programs for complex machined components. Create efficient machining strategies that support quality, productivity, and delivery objectives. Support manufacturing process development, prove-out activities, and production readiness. Troubleshoot machining, programming, tooling, and production-related issues. Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Production teams to resolve technical challenges. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements. Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation related to machining processes. Evaluate and improve toolpaths, cycle times, machining strategies, and process efficiency. Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, throughput, and cost reduction. Assist with tooling selection, fixture design reviews, and manufacturing process improvements. Support production activities and provide technical guidance related to CNC programs and machining processes. Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining quality and delivery objectives. Required Qualifications Experience developing and troubleshooting CNC programs within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with Siemens NX or comparable CAM software. Strong blueprint reading and engineering drawing interpretation skills. Knowledge of GD&T principles and application. Experience supporting machining processes for complex components. Ability to independently troubleshoot manufacturing and process-related issues. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Ability to support production activities in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications CNC & Machining Experience Experience machining titanium, Inconel, stainless steel, aluminum, or similar engineered materials. Experience with Fanuc controls. Experience with Siemens 840D controls. Familiarity with Renishaw probing systems. Experience utilizing Sandvik Capto tooling systems. Grinding process experience. Exposure to fixture and tooling design. Experience optimizing machining strategies and reducing cycle times. Manufacturing Engineering Experience Toolpath optimization. Manufacturing process development. Process validation and prove-out support. Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Continuous improvement initiatives. Lean Manufacturing methodologies. Advanced GD&T interpretation. Additional Manufacturing Experience Strong blueprint interpretation capabilities. Experience working closely with machinists, inspectors, engineers, and production personnel. Experience supporting shop-floor manufacturing operations. Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Industry Experience Aerospace manufacturing. Aerospace OEM environments. Aerospace supply chain manufacturing. Precision machining operations. Flight-critical component manufacturing. AS9100-regulated manufacturing environments. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Manchester, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $110000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
