Mastercam Job Overview We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer specializing in CNC milling machines to join our aerospace manufacturing team in Milford, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have hands-on CAM programming experience, strong machining knowledge, blueprint interpretation skills, and an understanding of CNC setup requirements. Experience with Mastercam and 3-axis or 4-axis milling is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for 3-axis and 4-axis milling machines. Use CAD/CAM software to create efficient toolpaths and machining strategies. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements. Determine appropriate machining processes, cutting tools, speeds, and feeds. Develop tooling and workholding solutions to improve machining accuracy and efficiency. Create tooling control sheets documenting setup requirements and machining operations. Support shop-floor personnel during CNC setup, program prove-out, and first-article production. Troubleshoot programming and machining issues and implement corrective actions. Analyze existing parts and processes to identify opportunities for improved quality, productivity, and repeatability. Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve production challenges. Maintain accurate process documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience. At least 1 year of development experience, preferably in New Product Introduction (NPI). Minimum of 2 years of CNC programming experience using any CAM software. Proficiency in CAD/CAM applications. Experience programming CNC milling machines, particularly 3-axis and 4-axis equipment. Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and CNC setup requirements. Working knowledge of GD&T and technical drawings. Ability to select cutting tools and determine appropriate machining speeds and feeds. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. High School Diploma or GED. Preferred Qualifications Training may be provided to qualified candidates who demonstrate strong foundational CNC programming skills. Experience with Mastercam, SolidWorks, and/or hyperMILL. Experience with 5-axis CNC programming. Familiarity with Vericut for CNC program simulation and validation. Knowledge of Siemens 840D, FANUC, or OSP machine controls. Experience creating and maintaining manufacturing process models and drawings. Familiarity with ERP systems, process routers, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Ability to estimate machining cycle times for quotations. Knowledge of machine probing, pallet systems, and lights-out manufacturing. Vocational training or an associate degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field. What We Offer Competitive annual salary of $110,000-$130,000. Flexible work schedule.
