Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic CNC Programmer to join their industry-leading team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, proving, and optimising CNC programs to support the manufacture of high-quality, flight-critical components and structures. Working closely with production teams, the CNC Programmer will ensure efficient machining processes, compliance with engineering specifications, and consistent delivery of precision parts to aerospace standards. Key Responsibilities Develop, validate, and troubleshoot CNC programs using CAD/CAM systems. Create detailed process documentation including flow charts, setup sheets, and machining sequences. Interpret and analyse engineering drawings, identifying material requirements, tolerances, and manufacturing methods. Define machining strategies including tool paths, cutting parameters, and operation sequences. Ensure programs meet customer specifications, quality standards, and target cycle times. Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies based on material and geometry. Support the design and improvement of tooling, fixtures, and gauges. Collaborate with production teams to resolve machining and programming issues. Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities. Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures and actively participate in safety improvements. Support additional tasks as required to meet departmental and organisational goals. Technical Skills & Qualifications Ability to program using CAD/CAM software and/or manual CNC programming methods. Proficiency in Siemens NX (or similar CAD platforms) and Mastercam. Experience with 3D modelling, assemblies, drafting, and lathe/mill programming. Strong experience in multi-axis machining (3, 4, and 5-axis / 3+2 programming). Familiarity with CNC mill/turn and grinding processes (preferred). Experience using Vericut (CGTech) for program simulation and validation. Knowledge of Renishaw probing systems (preferred). Understanding of Fanuc and Siemens 840D controls (preferred). Strong knowledge of machining materials including Titanium, Inconel, Stainless Steel, and Aluminium. Ability to independently select tooling, workholding, and cutting strategies. Understanding of advanced tooling systems (e.g. Sandvik Capto - advantageous). Ability to debug CNC programs in collaboration with shop floor and inspection teams. Exposure to tooling and fixture design (preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
