You'll translate blueprints into Mazatrol or G-code, set machines for first-article runs, and keep production flowing with precision and speed. A day in the life Review part prints, plan the sequence, and write original programs in Mazatrol or G-code directly at the machine. Set up CNC lathes (2-4 axis) including installing fixtures, loading tools, setting tool registers, and dialing in work/geometry offsets. Configure machine control parameters and run first-piece samples, validating results before releasing to production. Monitor live cycles, catch malfunctions early, and fine-tune feeds, speeds, and toolpaths to stabilize the process. Verify dimensions, finishes, and features against drawings and GD&T callouts; document results. Controls & platforms you'll use Mazak controls: Mazatrol T-32, T+,
Fusion, Matrix, and Smooth Control CAM:
Mastercam, Mazatrol What makes you successful here Fluency in CNC programming (Mazatrol and G-code) and M-code utilization. Strength in production setups and first-article prove-outs. Hands-on experience with 2-, 3-, and 4-axis lathes; live tooling and Y-axis familiarity is a strong plus. Comfort with PLC troubleshooting and PLC programming in a production context. Thorough inspection habits—measuring to spec, confirming surface finish, and aligning to prints. Your background High School diploma or
GED. 3-5
years in a production manufacturing environment preferred. Experience on Mazak CNC lathes (2-4 axis); exposure to CNC Swiss (Star) is valued. Proficiency with GD&T interpretation and machine setups for repeatable production runs.
