Position Overview We are seeking an adaptable, growth-minded CNC Lead to join our team in Louisville, KY. Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the CNC Lead serves as the primary Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the plant floor. In this role, you will oversee production quality and output on our CNC machinery, program CAM toolpaths, ensure dimensional accuracy, and mentor plant operators on machinery setup, tool care, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities CNC Operation & CAM Programming:

Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machinery (5-axis Breton CNC machinery experience preferred); convert design drawings into production-ready CAM files and toolpaths (Pegasus software).

Quality & Output Verification:

Inspect finished terrazzo products against work orders and production document counts to honor our quality promise: "Do it once, do it right" .

Operator Mentorship & Safety:

Serve as the hands-on technical lead—training and mentoring floor team members on machine operation, safety guards, PPE, and tool maintenance.

Production Tracking:

Maintain accurate daily logs of processed piece counts and shipping paperwork.

Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving:

Proactively spot production bottlenecks, manage tool wear, and suggest shop-floor workflow improvements.

Qualifications & Experience CNC Machining Experience:

Non-negotiable hands-on multi-axis CNC operation and setup background.

CAM Software Capability:

Required experience generating, loading, or troubleshooting CAM toolpaths (Pegasus software experience is a plus).

CAD Experience:

Highly desired background working with CAD files or technical drawings.

Mindset & Adaptability:

Strong growth mindset, adaptability to customized architectural precast products, and enthusiasm for training others.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

Comfortable working in an active plant setting with exposure to heat, moisture, chemicals, and debris; ability to handle heavy lifting up to 100 lbs as required by shop tasks.

Schedule & Hiring Process Schedule:

6:30 AM

•3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with optional Saturday overtime available.
