Job Description

Position:

CNC Mill Machinist

Direct Hire Location:
Merrill, MI Pay Range:

$22

•47/hour, depending on experience, plus shift premiums

Shift Schedule:

1st

Shift:

6:00 AM

•4:30 PM, Monday-Friday 2nd

Shift:

4:15 PM

•4:45 AM, Monday-Thursday (16% shift premium)

POSITION SUMMARY

Our client in Merrill, MI, is expanding operations and installing three additional large-scale CNC machines as part of a major facility expansion. They are seeking entry-level to mid-level and experienced CNC Machinists to train on existing 3+2 and 5-axis equipment, with opportunities for advancement to newly installed machines. This is a direct-hire opportunity in a high-precision, large-format machining environment serving the aerospace and heavy structural industries.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform advanced machine setups and adjust machine tools to execute operations using provided programs. Adjust, verify, and troubleshoot CNC programs as needed. Operate CNC machine tools to perform complex machining operations across a diverse range of parts. Adjust machine speeds and feeds during operation. Follow programming instructions, operational data, and setup documentation to configure tooling, material clamping methods, machine calibrations, and console settings. Perform machining operations including boring, milling, drilling, facing, threading, and occasional profiling and contouring. Inspect finished parts to ensure conformance with specifications. Operate multiple machines simultaneously when required. Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required. 2+ years of CNC Mill experience in a related role within the machine tool industry. Job shop or prototype machining experience. Experience machining large, complex components. Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, and written specifications. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
