Xibitz specializes in the design and execution of one-of-a-kind experiential spaces for the corporate, higher education, sports, museum, and healthcare markets. The company employs over 55 creative and skilled artisans who offer a great depth of knowledge and talent. Xibitz maintains an 80,000-square-foot facility in Wyoming, MI where their work that includes enhanced technology, lighting, mechanical, and media-based engagements get refined and fabricated before on-site installation.
POSITION SUMMARY
Produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. CNC Operation Programs and operates CNC routing machine Uses CNC programming software to take CAD files and prepare them for CNC routing. Loads and calibrates all tooling required to complete the routing operation. Performs routine preventative maintenance of CNC router. Requires knowledge of operations including drilling, boring, routing, calipers. Ability to follow written instructions in English and read blueprint/drawing specifications Ability to read a tape measure Ability to operate a manual pallet jack Do high school level math Follow PPE requirements, safety rules, work policies and procedures per verbal or written training/instructions Ensure a quality product is completed according to specifications at the best possible production rate Must be able to read, write, and speak English effectively
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School diploma/GED required Prior CNC Experience is a plus Hilo operator's license (will train if needed) Prior fabrication or construction experience desired
REQUIRED SKILLS
Attention to detail Mechanical Aptitude Punctual and dependable Strong positive work ethic Desire to "do things right the first time" Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and fabricate from digital/stick templates Ability to read a tape measure and understand dimensions Knowledge of mathematics including fractions and decimals Ability to effectively work and communicate with fellow employee owners Ability to or willingness to learn to operate tools listed above and obtain new skills Knowledge of structural design integrity Self-starter
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to do physical labor including lifting of up to 100lbs Raise or lower a 50lb object from one level to another Ability to Bend at the waist, kneel, squat, stand, walk and use hands/arms to push, pull, reach or grasp for average of 8-10 hours per day, 40-60 hours per week Employee will regularly work around machinery in operation and be exposed to dust, fumes, and weather conditions (heat/humidity) Must be authorized to work in the United States.
