Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team.
FOUR DAY WORK WEEK
. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC machine programs to ensure precision and efficiency in metal machining processes. Your expertise will drive the production of high-quality components using advanced CNC equipment, including 4-axis CNC machines and CNC lathes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing projects by translating engineering designs into accurate machine instructions, ensuring seamless operations and top-tier product quality. Responsibilities Develop and write CNC programs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as SolidWorks, Fusion, and other CAD tools. Create machine set-up sheets, tool set-up instructions, and in-process inspection procedures. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure precise machining. Set up CNC machining tools and fixtures on various machines including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and 4-axis CNC machines. Optimize machining processes by implementing lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Perform tooling selection, calibration, and maintenance for CNC tooling to achieve desired tolerances and surface finishes. Conduct precision measurements using measurement instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and bore gauges to verify part accuracy. Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling wear, or programming errors; modify programs as needed for continuous improvement. Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret complex mechanical blueprints and schematics for accurate program development. Train other operators to run parts. Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain detailed documentation of all programming activities and quality control data. Requirements Proven experience programming CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or 4-axis CNC machines in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with CAD software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion or similar engineering CAD design tools. Strong knowledge of CAM software for programming complex machining operations. Familiarity with Fanuc and Mazac controls or other common CNC controller systems. Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and schematics with GD&T specifications. Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in metal machining processes. Understanding of measurement techniques using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and bore gauges for quality control purposes. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and reduce waste. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot programming or machining issues efficiently. Strong math skills relevant to geometry calculations required in precision machining tasks. Join us as a CNC Programmer if you're passionate about transforming engineering designs into precise manufactured components! Your expertise will help us deliver innovative solutions while advancing your career in a dynamic manufacturing environment dedicated to quality excellence.
