Hand Precision Machining is looking for a CNC Machinist to add to our very busy shop in Los Alamos (near Santa Fe and Albuquerque), NM. Machinists typically work 8 a.m.-5 p.m. with opportunities for overtime. Our shop works primarily with prototype and short-run machining. Relocation assistance available. Prefer CNC Machinist with 5+ years of experience, but will consider candidates with less experience.

CNC Machinist Job Duties:

Plans machining by studying drawings and blueprints, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; Programs and sets up mills and/or lathes Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements Looking for candidates with: A positive attitude with a desire to problem solve Experience with 4 and 5-axis machining Experience setting up and operating CNC machines Experience using Mastercam Experience reading and the ability to comprehend engineering drawings Working knowledge of speeds and feeds Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to operate multiple machines at once Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines with minimal oversight High school diploma or GED; Relevant education can substitute for years of job experience
