Program and operate the indexing function of a 4-axis CNC machine, including positioning the workpiece accurately across multiple indexed orientations. Select appropriate tools, cutting strategies, feeds, and speeds according to the material, geometry, and machining requirements. Optimize toolpaths to improve machining time, material usage, tool life, and overall production efficiency. Verify programs through simulation and/or testing before production to identify potential collisions, errors, or machining issues. Support CNC setup and first-piece validation when required. Furniture & Production Development Translate furniture designs and technical drawings into CNC-ready components and manufacturing solutions. Work closely with the Design and Woodshop teams to develop, refine, and improve furniture frame construction. Contribute to the development and standardization of CNC fabrication methods, processes, and best practices. Assist with project costing and production scheduling by providing accurate information regarding machining requirements and estimated production times. Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement Troubleshoot programming, tooling, setup, and machining issues to maintain quality and production continuity. Analyze machining defects and identify root causes, implementing corrective actions where necessary. Continuously improve CNC programs and machining methods to increase precision, consistency, efficiency, and repeatability. Develop and document best practices for CNC programming and machining. Share technical knowledge and provide guidance to Woodshop colleagues when appropriate. Collaboration Work collaboratively with Design, Project Management, and Woodshop teams throughout the development and production process. Communicate clearly regarding technical constraints, machining requirements, and potential production issues. Be proactive in identifying technical risks and proposing practical solutions.
