This position is ideal for someone who enjoys taking a part from print or model to a finished product and has the knowledge and confidence to determine the best machining strategy. Key Responsibilities Program multiple Hurco CNC mills using Autodesk Fusion 360. Review and interpret customer-provided engineering drawings, blueprints, models, and specifications. Create and modify 3D models from customer-provided prints when needed. Develop efficient machining strategies for a variety of parts, materials, and applications. Select appropriate cutting tools, toolholders, workholding, and machining parameters. Understand tooling requirements for machining various materials, including aluminum, mild steel, stainless steel, and tool steels. Determine proper speeds, feeds, depths of cut, and machining sequences to maximize efficiency and tool life. Work closely with machinists and toolmakers to improve machining processes and resolve programming or production issues. Optimize existing CNC programs to improve cycle times, quality, and overall efficiency. Create setup sheets if needed for clear instructions on machining. Ensure programs and machining processes consistently meet quality requirements. Work with tight tolerances and maintain a high level of precision and quality. Identify potential manufacturing challenges before production and recommend practical solutions. Design or assist with the design of fixtures and workholding when required. Maintain organized and accurate program files, tooling information, and machining documentation. Collaborate with shop leadership and team members to prioritize jobs and meet production deadlines. Order cutting tools, toolholders, and other machining-related supplies when needed. Work with tooling vendors to identify and source the best tooling solutions for specific applications. Stay current with machining technology, cutting tools, CAD/CAM software, and programming methods. Qualifications & Skills Proven experience as a CNC Programmer and/or CNC Machinist. Experience programming CNC mills using Autodesk Fusion 360 or similar CAM software. Experience with Hurco CNC machines is a strong plus. Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T. Experience working from 3D models and customer-provided CAD files. Strong understanding of workholding and fixture design. Ability to troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues independently. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Comfortable working independently while contributing to a small, team-oriented environment. Willingness to take ownership of projects from programming through production. Experience ordering and managing cutting tools is a plus. Experience in a tool room, job shop, or low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environment is preferred. Why Silver Tool?
