Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Technical school, machining certificate, or CNC programming education preferred. Experience Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience programming and setting up 3-axis CNC mills Experience with CAM software preferred Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, and mechanical processes Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications Solid math skills and attention to detail Strong problem-solving and communication abilities Dependable with a commitment to quality workmanship Job Duties Review job orders, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software Set up CNC machines, tooling, and fixtures for production runs Calibrate equipment and verify machine readiness before production Perform trial runs and make program adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency Monitor machining operations and maintain quality standards Troubleshoot programming and machining issues as they arise Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Support other manufacturing and production departments as needed Physical Capabilities Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around machining equipment throughout the shift. Ability to lift materials, tooling, and components weighing up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment. What You Will Do As a CNC Programmer you will set up, operate, monitor, and adjust CNC machining equipment to manufacture precision components according to engineering specifications. You will verify machine setups, inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, troubleshoot machining issues, maintain tooling, and support quality and production goals while following established safety and manufacturing procedures. A CNC Programmer produces precision parts through the operation of advanced CNC machining equipment. This role requires technical knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain accuracy throughout every stage of the machining process. The CNC Programmer combines blueprint interpretation, machine setup, tooling knowledge, and precision inspection techniques to manufacture quality components.
