CNC Machinist / Programmer Valley Machine Shop - 3.6 Kent, WA Job Details Full-time $28 - $40 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Tooling Bore gauges Metal fabrication Geometry Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist / Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in CNC programming, tooling setup, and mechanical blueprint interpretation will be vital in ensuring high-quality production standards. Duties Develop and write CNC programs using CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, AutoCAD, and CAM software to optimize machining processes. Set up CNC machines including CNC lathes, milling machines (including 5-axis CNC machines). Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to determine machining requirements and ensure accurate fabrication. Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and measurement instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for precise machining operations. Perform machine tool setup, calibration, and adjustments to meet tight tolerances while adhering to safety standards. Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling wear, or machine performance; perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment. Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, setups, and inspection results for quality assurance. Qualifications Proven experience operating and programming CNC machinery and milling machines; experience with 5-axis CNC machines is a plus. Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems. Proficiency in CAD software such as Mastercam or AutoCAD for designing parts and creating programs. Skilled in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and engineering drawings. Ability to use precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in high-volume manufacturing environments.
Pay:
$28.00 - $40.00 per hour
