CNC Programmer / Product Development Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. This position will be responsible for creating CNC programs, preparing drawings and 3D models, setting up machining processes, and helping develop and test new products. The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD skills and experience programming 3-axis CNC machines. Experience machining plastic or wood is preferred, although candidates with metal machining experience are also encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Create and modify 2D drawings using AutoCAD. Create and modify 3D models using software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar programs. Develop CNC programs for 3-axis CNC machines. Use 3D CAD/CAM software to create toolpaths and CNC programs from 3D models. Determine appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining methods. Set up and test CNC programs before production. Troubleshoot programming, tooling, and machining issues. Review drawings, models, and specifications to ensure parts are manufactured correctly. Make program adjustments to improve quality, accuracy, and production efficiency. Assist with product design, prototyping, and new-product development. Build and test prototypes and recommend design or manufacturing improvements. Work with production employees to resolve manufacturing problems. Maintain organized CNC programs, drawings, models, and product documentation. Follow company safety and quality procedures. Required Qualifications Proficiency with AutoCAD. Experience programming 3-axis CNC machines. Experience with 3D modeling and CNC programming using CAD/CAM software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar programs. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, 3D models, dimensions, and specifications. Understanding of CNC tooling, machining processes, feeds, and speeds. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work. Preferred Qualifications Experience machining plastic or wood. Metal machining experience will also be considered. Experience with product design, prototyping, testing, or engineering. Experience improving products or manufacturing processes. Experience setting up and operating CNC machines. Experience with Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or other CAD/CAM and 3D modeling software. Relevant technical degree, apprenticeship, engineering background, or manufacturing training. Schedule This is a full-time, first-shift position. Employees may work one of the following schedules: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Compensation Wages will be based on the candidate's CNC programming experience, AutoCAD proficiency, 3D modeling and CAD/CAM software experience, machining knowledge, product-development experience, engineering experience, and overall qualifications. Pay:
$32.00 - $42.00 per hour
