Shot Blast / Bond Paint Technician - for Dellner Polymer USA Dellner Polymer Solutions is a global manufacturer specializing in vibration control and bonding solutions for international markets. With established production facilities in the United Kingdom and India, we have a new manufacturing facility in the United States, Robertsdale, Alabama. The Surface Finishing Technician is responsible for preparing, cleaning, shot blasting, and applying Bond Paint coatings to parts and components according to established specifications and quality requirements. This position ensures parts are properly prepared and coated to meet production, quality, and customer requirements. The employee will operate shot blast equipment, prepare surfaces for bonding or coating, mix and apply Bond Paint, inspect finished work, and maintain a safe and organized work area.
MAIN OUTCOMES, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Shot Blasting & Surface Preparation Operate shot blast equipment to properly clean and prepare parts and components. Load and unload parts into shot blast equipment using proper handling procedures. Select and maintain appropriate blasting settings based on part requirements and established work instructions. Inspect blasted surfaces to ensure proper preparation, cleanliness, and consistency. Remove rust, scale, oxidation, coatings, debris, and other contaminants from parts as required. Ensure parts are properly prepared for subsequent painting, bonding, molding, or assembly operations. Monitor blast media levels and report equipment or process issues to the appropriate supervisor. Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping of the shot blast equipment and surrounding work area. Assist with basic maintenance and upkeep of blasting equipment as directed. Bond Paint Application Prepare parts and surfaces for Bond Paint application according to established procedures. Mix, measure, and prepare Bond Paint and related materials according to manufacturer and company specifications. Apply Bond Paint using the appropriate spray equipment, brushes, or other approved application methods. Maintain proper coating thickness, coverage, and consistency. Follow established cure times, drying requirements, and handling procedures. Inspect painted parts for proper coverage, adhesion, appearance, and overall quality. Properly identify and stage completed parts for the next production process. Maintain accurate records of paint usage, batches, or other required production information. Properly clean and maintain spray equipment, tools, and painting equipment after use. Quality Responsibilities Perform visual inspections of parts before and after blasting and painting. Identify surface defects, contamination, improper coverage, coating issues, or other quality concerns. Follow established work instructions, drawings, specifications, and quality procedures. Ensure parts meet established customer and internal quality standards. Report nonconforming material or process issues to the appropriate supervisor or quality personnel. Maintain consistent workmanship and attention to detail throughout the finishing process.

Pay:
