Industrial Painter ~ $22 an hour Sovereign - 2.8 Lenexa, KS Job Details Full-time $22 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications Industrial painting High school diploma or GED Grinding Vocational training Sanding Full Job Description We are hiring an experienced Industrial Painter to prepare, prime, paint, and finish industrial components and equipment. This position requires hands-on experience with industrial coatings, surface preparation, and spray equipment . We are looking for someone with previous industrial painting experience who is comfortable working with a variety of coatings, surfaces, and application methods.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM Responsibilities Prepare metal components and surfaces for painting or coating Perform surface preparation including cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and shot blasting Apply primers, paints, and industrial coatings according to specifications Work with coatings including epoxies, urethanes, and high-solids coatings Operate airless spray equipment and HVLP spray guns Perform powder coating as needed Inspect completed work for proper coverage, finish, and overall quality Identify parts and components according to work orders before painting or powder coating Monitor paint booth, oven, wash bay, and related equipment Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all safety, PPE, hazardous material, and OSHA procedures Maintain accurate production and work records Assist other departments when needed Qualifications Previous industrial painting experience required Experience preparing metal surfaces for industrial coatings Hands-on experience with airless spray machines and/or HVLP spray guns Experience with epoxies, urethanes, high-solids coatings, or similar industrial coatings Powder coating experience strongly preferred Ability to recognize proper coating coverage and finish quality Comfortable working independently and following detailed work instructions High school diploma or equivalent Vocational training or certification in industrial painting is a plus Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and move throughout the workday Ability to safely push, pull, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs Comfortable working around industrial equipment, cleaning solvents, paints, and other coating materials while wearing required PPE Candidates with strong experience in industrial spray painting, equipment painting, manufacturing painting, powder coating, or metal finishing are encouraged to apply.
